At Fakeeh College for Medical Sciences (FCMS), we believe in supporting students throughout their academic journey — including when they seek to transfer into our programs or change their field of study within the college. Our transfer policy ensures a transparent, fair, and academically sound process for all applicants.

Who Can Apply?

1. Current FCMS Students

Students currently enrolled at FCMS who wish to change their program of study (e.g., switching from Nursing to Pharmacy) may apply for an internal program transfer, subject to academic evaluation and seat availability.

2. External Transfer Students

Students from other accredited institutions who wish to continue their academic path at FCMS may apply to transfer, provided they meet the eligibility criteria and complete the formal process.

General Guidelines

  • Only students who have completed less than 20% of their current program’s coursework are eligible for transfer.
  • Courses to be transferred must:
    • Align with the desired FCMS program.
    • Have a minimum grade of “C” in the course.
    • Match at least 60% of the content of equivalent FCMS courses.
  • External transfers: Approved transferred courses will not count toward the FCMS GPA.

Internal program transfers: Approved transferred courses will count toward the FCMS GPA.

Application Process

For FCMS Students (Internal Program Transfer)
  1. Submit a Program Transfer Request Form to the Admission Unit (AU).
  2. The AU forwards the request and transcript to the Program Transfer Committee, chaired by the receiving Program Director and composed of the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and senior faculty.
  3. The committee reviews academic performance and course equivalency, then forwards its recommendation to the Academic Affairs Committee (AAC).
  4. Final approval is granted by the Dean of the College and ratified by the College Council.
  5. The applicant is formally notified of the decision.
For External Transfer Students
  1. Provide a formal transfer letter from the current institution, an official transcript, and a clearance certificate (indicating no behavioral or academic misconduct).
  2. Submit the FCMS Transfer Request Form with the required documents to the AU.
  3. The same evaluation process will be followed as with internal transfers, including academic review and committee recommendations.
  4. The decision is finalized by the Dean and College Council, and applicants will be informed of the outcome.

Important Notes

  • For self-funded students: Tuition fees for the new program must be settled with the Finance Unit upon approval.
  • For scholarship students: The sponsor must approve the program change or transfer. The AU will communicate directly with the sponsor, and the student will be officially informed once a decision is made.

At FCMS, we’re committed to helping our students find the right path — whether that means continuing in their current program or taking a new academic direction. If you're considering a transfer, our academic advisors are here to support you every step of the way.
