As part of its commitment to social responsibility and the spirit of giving, Fakeeh College for Medical Sciences organized a blood donation campaign in collaboration with Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital and the Jeddah Municipality. The campaign took place on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the college premises and witnessed significant participation from students, faculty, and visitors eager to contribute to this humanitarian cause.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation and its health benefits while ensuring an adequate blood supply to support patients in need. It also sought to promote a sense of social solidarity and encourage community members to take part in such impactful initiatives.

The campaign featured various educational and interactive activities that enhanced the participants’ experience. Donors were welcomed and underwent preliminary medical screenings to confirm their eligibility. Additionally, medical specialists from Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital provided informative sessions on the health benefits of regular blood donation. To create an engaging atmosphere, students organized skill-based and intellectual games related to the campaign’s theme, making the learning process both fun and effective. As a token of appreciation, symbolic gifts were distributed to donors, and all participants and organizers received five volunteer hours through the Friends of Jeddah platform in recognition of their contributions.

The campaign achieved tangible results, with 19 individuals successfully donating blood, while over 50 potential donors underwent medical screening. It is estimated that the collected blood donations will benefit approximately 57 patients, underscoring the significant impact of this initiative.

Building on this success, Fakeeh College for Medical Sciences aspires to organize regular blood donation drives in collaboration with Fakeeh Hospital. The college also aims to enhance community awareness through media and social media platforms to maximize outreach and encourage more participation.

This initiative reflects the college’s commitment to social responsibility and its dedication to instilling values of generosity and compassion among its students. Saving lives through blood donation is a noble duty that embodies the principles of empathy and solidarity.
