Scientific research is a cornerstone of any educational institution where teaching and learning, discovery, creativity, and community engagement are “core elements” to the mission of Fakeeh College for Medical Sciences (FCMS). FCMS management has a vision to be one of the leading medical sciences colleges in Saudi Arabia fostering innovation and achieving educational and training excellence. In order to achieve the FCMS mission, to prepare qualified compassionate graduates in medical and health specialties according to national and international educational standards, contributing to scientific research and community services, scientific research unit developed a scientific research day.

Planning of this day was in alignment with goal number six of FCMS strategic plan, strengthen postgraduate studies and scientific research, and in parallel with goal number one of the second scientific research plan (Bahuth Two), continue the commitment to optimize research environment and infrastructure. In addition, the scientific research day resulted as an action plan of standard seven’s gap analysis of the institutional accreditation criteria.  

This event has many objectives formulated as follow:

• To enrich the scientific research environment at FCMS
• To enhance research skills at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional levels
• To strengthen the scientific networking among staff and students and exchange experience
• To improve the research related key performance indicators.

All themes are aligned with the SaudiMEDs and CanMEDs competencies to meet the national and international standards.
