Research In MFSC-SUAMR

The MFSC-SUAMR aims to facilitate the transfer of healthcare and educational technology innovation and to develop integrated plans for medical treatment and psychological support for drug users and addicts in Saudi Arabia. It plans to support collaboration and develop positive outcomes through rehabilitation programs and services. The initiative will enhance educational training and research opportunities, increase the use of healthcare and educational technology and AI in drug use and addiction care, conduct awareness campaigns, and establish partnerships with national and international collaborators.

Additionally, mobile applications and electronic booklets will be created based on research innovations. The implementation strategy involves creating research collaborations, allocating resources, raising awareness, and partnering with healthcare technology industries. Several tasks will be identified and completed over three phases during the first 5 years of the Scientific Chair. The construction of an Integrated Rehabilitation Center for medical care and psychological support of drug users and addicts will facilitate research in this area.

Research Projects Submission and Evaluation

Research project proposals will be solicited through an open call within the scope of the Chair. Each proposed project seeking funding will undergo a comprehensive external peer-review process. To maintain objectivity, international peer-reviewers with no conflict of interest will be invited to assess the proposals based on the recommendation of the FCMS Scientific Research Committee (SRC). The SRC will initially review the submitted projects and oversee the evaluation process to ensure that it adheres to high standards and remains independent. The projects will be assessed using specific criteria that are integral to the Chair's project portfolio. The submitted proposals should be of high quality and fit within one of the objectives of MFSC-SUAMR. To select fundable projects, the MFSC-SUAMR will adopt best-practice measures that are based on peer-review process.
